Cupid’s Arrows – Louise Marley

Louise Marley has an unusual suggestion for Cupid today and I think I approve!

“Whenever I think of Cupid shooting someone with his golden arrow, I think of poor Ron Weasley in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, when he accidentally consumed a love potion meant for his friend and made a right idiot of himself. Having Cupid do all the matchmaking would certainly be an easy way to get a man to fall in love with you, but it doesn’t sound half as much fun as doing the work yourself.

Not that I’m suggesting you should go out and shoot someone!

The first and last man I ever bothered to chase after was my husband. He rightly surmised that the only way to get my attention would be to ignore me. So I took to hanging around the same places he did – which, unfortunately for me, meant the gym. He finally succumbed, I got very fit and we’ve now been happily married for 20 years. So I would suggest taking the DIY approach – and let Cupid shoot himself with his own damned arrow.”

Thanks, Louise! I wouldn’t mind being around when Cupid shoots himself…for research purposes, you know…

Louise’s latest book is Breathless

Someone in Port Rell has a secret. A secret they would kill to protect.

Nothing ever happens in the seaside village of Port Rell, which is why Lainey Jennings is so keen to leave it. She’s only twenty-four, there’s so much more she wants to do with her life. Crazy and outlandish things; like ice diving in Alaska, explore the underwater caves in Mexico, maybe even search for the lost city of Atlantis. Stay in Port Rell forever? Talk about purgatory!

Since the death of her father, she’s struggled to keep the family diving business from bankruptcy. There’s just one thing that keeps her going. Her dream that one day she’ll discover the lost wreck that her father was so obsessed with, the legendary Mary Eliza – responsible for destroying Port Rell almost four hundred years ago.

When an old, unknown wreck is discovered in the bay, sleepy Port Rell is under siege once more. This time it’s the media, including a team from the Wreck Raiders TV show, led by handsome archaeologist Zac Nelson. The villagers are quick to cash in on their unexpected popularity. But ancient wrecks aren’t the only thing waiting to be discovered in Port Rell.

Because someone in Port Rell has a secret.
